Japan day 3

Waking up at 6:00am to get ready for a busy day. I flipped on the tv, turned it over to TV Tokyo and what did my eyes see, not eight tiny reindeer but an actual anime. I had been trying to see if I could catch an anime or two while in Japan and so far with no luck. However since I had to take a shower and get down to breakfast, it had to wait. After breakfast, I managed to catch part of the new Yugioh and an old Yugioh episode (in between the battle city tournament and the finale of the arc).

We headed out to the subway station to catch the train out to Odaiba for the Anime Japan 2017 trade show at the Tokyo Big Sight.

That's the building straight ahead (the 2 inverted pyramids marks the entrance). We had to enter from the rear entrance due to the crowd.

We were in line for about an hour and a half, here is a sign that's interesting....
After we entered the building...
A few of the nice ladies
One of the highlights was the IG Group display

This is a Tachikoma, in the Ghost in the Shell series the Tachikoma was a talking AI. The smaller ones in the background will be available for sale later on this year. The MSRP was not displayed at the trade show. For those that watched the Ghost in the Shell series, the video of the tachikoma's camera looks just like it did in the anime.

Here's an exhibit I didn't expect:

RWBY is an American anime series currently awaiting season 5 in October.

The last picture is from Attack on Titan. They had a life sized titan on display.
The crowd estimate was 40,000+

After spending most of the day at the Trade show we walked over to the Gundam exhibit and restaurant. On the way we saw this building.
For you Digimon fans, this is the building where Matt's dad worked.
Fuji TV has their offices in this building.

Below is what's left of the 50' Gundum statue.

It was recently taken down to be replaced by a different Gundum in 2018. The restaurant / Gundum store is located on the right side.

Later we made our way to the Shibuya train station and checked out the famous Shibuya crossing:

3,000 people makes their way through this intersection in 40 seconds.
Here we go across..

Of course no trip to Shibuya crossing would be complete without hachiko.

Hachiko, is the famous dog that waited for it's master faithfully at the train station every day, he kept coming for years after his owners death. Just to the left of the tree is his statue. Hachiko's statue is a meeting place where large numbers of folks gather.
Above is a better picture.

The haul from Anime Japan. After all the excitement, what did I have for dinner....curry. Arrgh, tomorrow I shall not eat curry.
